Generally referred to by Montrealers as CFCF, it has over the years grown to be Canada’s most-watched news whether locally or nationally. “You could basically hear every home tuning into the news station for the latest updates. It has gained the trust of the masses and garnered recognition locally and globally. Only recently, which should be in 2021, the CTV News celebrated its 60th anniversary said, Hershey Rosen. Hershey Rosen is a businessman and mentor in the field of technology. He has mentored over a dozen startup owners on how to successfully run a technology business.
How it All Started
It all dated back to January 20, 1961, when it was launched and co-founded with the CTV network.
It is part of Bell Media, publicly traded company and its operations include specialty channels CTV NEWS CHANNEL, BNN Bloomberg, CP24, information programming, and so much more.
Mutsumi Takahashi has been the chief news anchor for decades and her expertise and excellence has been greatly felt in the industry. Little wonder she was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Radio Television Digital News Association of Canada.

Being a part of Bell Media, the station has always been a voice to ethnicities, indigenous people and the disabled. Whether it’s through the stories, the core beliefs, work ethics, stories sources, and behind-the-scenes, diversity has always taken the front seat in the operation.
The employees carry out a diversity questionnaire to collect data which are then analysed and serve as a basis for the action plan.

Trusted Information
Being the most trusted television station in Canada didn’t come on a platter of gold. There is hard work and diligence that goes into it. And the staff have proven over and over again that they are well equipped for the task. Information shared passed through rigorous screening and verification to ensure they are accurate and true. Stats are checked and rechecked to ensure they are accurate, technical terms are confirmed, information are verified for subject matter experts, claims are investigated, conventional wisdom is challenged, and a host of other activities to provide accurate information.
If there is any information that seems untrue, they are immediately corrected and this is being communicated to the audience to ensure transparency. Readers as well are given the opportunity to report any news that might seem untrue or inadequate with necessary steps taken as fast as possible. And while journalists come out with information, they need to provide how they got the information, the sources and supporting documents to back it up, and how well can the sources be trusted.
