VIVOTEK’s artificial intelligence engine in conjunction with video analytics can automatically alert the operator when there is an incident, with high precision and fewer false alarms. That vantage makes it a reliable option for protecting industrial vertical project assets. The first part of this article showed the general mode of operation of the VIVOTEK Smart CCTV Camera surveillance solution for industries.
In this second installment we will see how it can be applied for video surveillance in different verticals:
Smart Monitoring: Monitoring with AI and Alarm Triggers
For the industry vertical, the number of monitoring cameras is very high. Manufacturers are making it possible for operators to see everything at the same time.
Therefore, video analytics is a very important support feature to automatically alert operators when there is an incident.
VIVOTEK has taken a slightly different approach when developing video analytics. Because, in its concept, most incidents that need operator attention are human-related.
Therefore, the company has developed its own internal deep learning artificial intelligence engine as a core. Also, focused on offering highly accurate human detection and tracking technology.
Based on this engine artificial intelligence, various analytics have been created for different purposes such as intelligent motion detection, intrusion detection, loitering, crowd control, and more.
You can add these video analytics directly to VIVOTEK Smart CCTV Camera (on edge).
There are several benefits to VIVOTEK video analytics. One of them is the precision of human detection using the artificial intelligence CCTV Camera engine optimized to avoid false alarms.
Since the same artificial intelligence engine in the camera do the video analysis, it can use multiple analytics at the same time.
It does the video analysis directly on the cameras and then sends it to the VAST 2 CMS; the CPU load is divided between them, so there is no need for the user to invest in an expensive server to run these analytics.
Perimeter – Line Crossing Detection:
You can utilize cross-line analytics to automatically alert the operator when the CCTV camera detects a person passing through the perimeter area.
A line ruler can be set on the camera image. If a person passes this line, the camera automatically sends an alarm to the CMS VAST 2 for the operator.
Open Areas – Intelligent Motion Detection:
Intelligent motion detection can be used to automatically alert the operator when a person is entering a specific area.
The user can select an area in the camera image to apply motion detection. If there is a person entering this area, the camera automatically sends an alarm to the VAST 2 CMS for the operator.
Users can also set a schedule to automatically activate smart motion detection during specific hours.

Open Areas – Intrusion Detection:
Clients can use intrusion detection to automatically alert the operator when a person enters or leaves a specific area.
The user can select an area in the camera image to apply the intrusion detection rule. If there is a person entering or exiting this area, the camera automatically sends an alarm to the CMS VAST 2 for the operator.
Open Areas – Unattended Object Detection:
Unattended object detection can be used to automatically alert the operator when there is a new object in the area after a certain time.
The user can select an area in the camera image to apply the rule for unattended object detection. If there is something new in the area, after the user set period of time, the camera automatically sends an alarm to the CMS VAST 2 for the operator.
Interior – Lost and Found Detection:
Lost object detection can be used to automatically alert the operator when an object is missing from the camera image.
The user can select an area in the camera image to apply the missing object detection rule. If something is missing in the area, after the period of time set by the user; then the camera automatically sends an alarm to the CMS VAST 2 for the operator.
Interior – Intelligent Motion Detection:
Intelligent motion detection can be used to automatically alert the operator when there is someone in a restricted area or at a time when there should be no one.
The user can select an area in the camera image to apply motion detection. If there is a human entering this area, the camera automatically sends an alarm to the VAST 2 CMS for the operator.
Interior – Crowd Detection:
You can use crowd detection to automatically alert the operator when there is a gathering of people in a specific area that should not be allowed.
The user can select an area in the camera image to apply the crowd detection rule. And then set the number of people and the period of time that are within the area for the alarm to go off.
If multiple people enter this area and the amount and time reach a limit, the camera automatically sends an alarm to the CMS VAST 2 for the operator.
Interior – Loitering Detection:
You can use loitering detection to automatically alert the operator when a human is within a location for an extended period of time which is not normal behavior.
The user can select an area in the camera image to apply the loitering detection rule. And also configure the length of time. When they are within the area for triggering the alarm. If a person enters this area and reaches the time limit, the camera automatically sends an alarm to the CMS VAST 2 for the operator.
