11 plus is a test taken at the end of 5th grade to determine if a child is ready to join grammar school or not. It is not an easy test for adolescents because it has sections that are not normally taught in schools. Therefore, extra help is required to clear this exam. Children are aware of English and Math, but not many kids are good at verbal and nonverbal reasoning. The latter two are the sections that are most challenging for pupils who are into 11 plus preparation.
For the preparation for the 11+ test, the majority of children join tuition centers that are dedicated to preparing children for this exam. These centers train pupils according to the exams that grammar schools take. Grammar schools have made it challenging for pupils as competition arises between the best institutions. Thus, students have to work harder with the assistance of 11 plus preparation tuition centers.
What is an 11+ Test?
This test comprises four sections in total. These subjects are English, Mathematics, verbal reasoning, and nonverbal reasoning. Now, learners are familiar with English and Math, but verbal and nonverbal reasoning is tough. Some children are gifted with the skills to reason while others lack these capabilities. Thus, tutors are devoted to teaching each child with sufficient knowledge so that they clear the test without any stress and problem.
If a child does not take assistance from centers that are particularly aimed for 11 plus preparation, they might not be able to pass the exam and fail in being selected by grammar schools. This situation can highly affect that kid and his confidence, which is not good especially for adolescents. So, to keep the child heading forwards and upwards, self-confidence is necessary that can only be boosted when he is prepared and ready for challenges like 11+ examinations.
